THE SUMMER COURSES ENDED

Our summer courses have now all come to a good end, and we are glad to know that all the pupils have safely arrived back with their parents. Although the weather has much of the time not been on its best behaviour the summer course pupils have evidently enjoyed themselves. The joy was equally on the teachers' side, for at Arosa as well as at Lenk, Seefeld, and St. Gallen their pupils' eagerness to learn was above average.

This year's ARIANA Cup has again been won by AROSA! Although the Arosa pupils' average age was about 12½ years, they proved able to hold their ground against the older players. Whether this was due to Sarah Baker's excellent training, or to the 'big ones' sparing 'the little ones', must remain an open question. Most important was for all the tournament players to be able to have a day of sports and fair play and to enjoy themselves!

May we take this opportunity to extend a sincere thank you to our summer course staff, leaders, directors and teachers, for their commitment and performance. You have done everything you could to enable the summer pupils to experience enriching and unforgettable summer course weeks.

Ariana Cup Football Tournament

On July 20th, 2011, the traditional Ariana Cup Tournament took place in Arosa. Ideal weather conditions prevailed and the participating teams played several games in a good, relaxed atmosphere. The results were:

1^st place ARIANA AROSA
2^nd place ARIANA LENK
3^rd place INSTITUT AUF DEM ROSENBERG ST. GALLEN
4^th place ARIANA SEEFELD

Victory was not the most important thing but meeting each other, cultivating a sense of fair play and the fun of the game. We would like to say a big Thank You to all the teams, coaches and organisers!
